Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer

THERMAL OXIDIZERS

Fusion Environmental Corporation (FEC) offers a variety of oxidation technologies to meet the varying needs of our clients.  Our thermal oxidizers utilize combustion technology to convert organic molecules to CO2 and H2O.  Our systems operate at temperatures of 1500 °F with retention times of typically 1 second or greater.   These process variables allow our thermal oxidizers to achieve destruction efficiencies of greater than 99 wt%.

FEC offers Direct Fired Thermal Oxidizers, Recuperative Thermal Oxidizers, and Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO).  Each system is offered to provide the client with the most advantageous mix of capital and operating costs.

Direct Fired Thermal Oxidizers

FEC's Direct Fired Thermal Oxidizers utilize natural gas or propane combustion to initiate the oxidation process.  Our systems are skid mounted and contain no heat recovery and are are suitable for lower flowrate applications that have high concentrations of organic contaminants.  Our Direct Fired Thermal Oxidizers are skid mounted systems available in flowranges from 250 cfm to 3,000 cfm.

Recuperative Thermal Oxidizers

FEC's Recuperative Thermal Oxidizers employ heat recovery to minimize natural gas and propane consumption.  Our systems are skid mounted and are capable of heat recoveries of greater than 75%.  Our recuperative units are available in flowranges from 1,000 cfm to 7,500 cfm.

Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs)

FEC's Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) use ceramic heat exchanger media to reduce overall operating costs through reduced pressure drops and greater than 95% heat recovery.  Our RTO systems are provided as skid mounted systems up to 14,000 cfm.  For larger airflow applications, from 14,000 cfm to 50,000 cfm,  FEC provides modular systems that are designed to require minimal field installtion.

Typical applications include paint ovens, printing presses, coating applications, ethanol production, and furniture manufacturing.

Benefits and Features:

  • Skid mounted systems
  • FM and IRI approved gas trains
  • No internal welds in recuperative oxidizers which permits unrestricted thermal expansion.
  • Access for cleaning or inspection requirements.
  • Proprietary gas injection technology to provide the lowest NOx emissions
  • Completely automated operation via PLC based control systems
